Pray for our Staff Team

Over some weeks now, I’ve been working through what a healthy church looks like and how our new staffing structure will help us achieve such health. If you missed it on Sunday, here is a summary of the new roles and who to contact for what (a ‘go to list’): CLICK HERE.

Above all we need to be people who seek God’s gracious hand on all our pastors and leaders. Here is a prayer you could use:

Lord, may our Ministers and leaders at DAC walk into this day in Your strength, putting on your full armour so that they can take their stand against the devil’s schemes.

Their struggle is not against flesh and blood. People are not the problem. Their struggle is against the rulers, authorities and powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. When they know the Enemy, they will have no enemies.

Help them stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around their waist, and the breastplate of righteousness in place. May their feet be fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. May they take up the shield of faith, so that they can extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one. And put on the helmet of salvation, picking up the sword of the Spirit which is your Word.

Equip them to pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. Help them to be alert today and to keep on praying for all the congregation.

Lord, help them to go into this day in your strength.

I ask all this in Christ’s great name, Amen.

(Based on Ephesians 6 and a prayer by Rev. James Macbeth)

Grace and peace,
Mark
