A First Birthday!
What a privilege for our church to partner with Anglicare in running a service in St Luke’s Retirement Living Village. Ministry to people of every age and stage in life is so vital. What a joy to see Village Church turn 1! Congratulations!
Our Anglicare-sponsored Village Chaplain Leigh Roberts writes:
Our Village Church (VC) in St Luke’s Anglicare Retirement Village celebrated its first anniversary last Thursday 12th February. Cake & Communion were welcomed features of the celebration.
And in the providence of God, the preaching passage for the week just ‘happened’ to be Acts chapter 2 – widely considered to be the birthday of the Christian church. How good is that?! What a good reminder that Jesus’ plan to save sinners and build His church is still valid & vital. We get to join in Jesus’ magnificent mission today!
With the completion of the long-awaited beautiful new community centre and units, called Forestview, we had a brand-new space to start up a weekly church gathering, which we did in February 2025.
The service comes under the oversight of and rich partnership with Dapto Anglican Church, with many members of VC also members of DAC. We share your DNA & vision – after all, we’re family!
We are so grateful to Anglicare & DAC for this intentional partnership in the sharing of prayer, encouragement, resources, preachers (like John R & the DAC team), extra events, volunteers (like Genie C from DAC 8 AM) and of course your famous, much-in-demand DAC Choir for Carols! You bless us!
Please continue to pray for us as we seek to honour and work with Jesus by reaching the lost and equipping the saints to do ministry and mission in the Village. Jesus is working here too as He is at other services at DAC.
Of course, if you’re free on Thursday mornings at 10 AM, you’d be welcome to join us.
Rich blessings,
