Finding your place serving here
To play our part in Christ’s body is to honour Him, as He is the head of the body. My wife Susan is our Ministry (Serving) Minister. She writes:
One of the great joys of being a Christian is the way that we belong to, and are called to serve in Christ's body. Romans 12:5 explains that "in Christ, we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others." God has graciously gifted his body, the church. The gifts listed in Romans 12 include prophesying, serving, teaching, encouraging, giving, leading, showing mercy.
At Dapto Anglican Church, every time we gather, we see such gifts being exercised. What a joy it is to come and be taught, encouraged, led, served, and all of this done with cheerfulness, generosity, mercy and grace. What a wonderful privilege for each of us to play our part in the body, honouring and serving one another in sincere love.
My role is to help you find your place in serving at Dapto Anglican. Matt encouraged us on Sunday to look at our calendars, pray and start a conversation about where you might like to serve. Please reach out to me at susan@daptoanglican.org.au and I'd love to start a conversation with you to help you find your place.
Below are some ideas of places to serve, but there are so many more. We have a place waiting just for you!
May we find our place and honour the Lord!
Grace and Peace,
Mark
