All Glory to God! - QUILT, ART & CRAFT SHOW 2025

I loved experiencing my first DAC Quilt, Art and Craft show the other week! It was spectacular in so many ways, but most of all i’m thankful for the heart desire of the leaders to honour Christ in all they do. There is much to celebrate, and Wendy Eagleton who is our Creative Connection ministry leader reflects on the show:

Wow what a show! 

Firstly, let me say, much prayer precedes our show, your show, and we are thankful to God and to you for your support.

Creative Connection is a ministry more so than a craft group. It’s a safe place for both men and women and is made up of approximately 60% of ‘not yet Christians’. Quite a few of their husbands are involved with volunteering to help. They set up throughout the year and particularly help with the show.

We are self-funded by donations and hard work throughout the year, which runs the group and the show.

Everything you see at the show is made and donated by the men and women of Creative Connection.

Our biggest goal with the show, is to shine Jesus by inviting and welcoming the community into our church space and we pray they return to find out more about the Christian life. The atmosphere of the show is, friendliness, community, inclusiveness and much much more.

We have watched and experienced God at work throughout the year and particularly at the show. We’ve seen everything from a simple comment on how friendly our church is, to donations from a couple of strangers at the show towards our Compassion Ministry. God is Amazing!

Our very first show 20 years ago, was to show our church community the quilts and craft of Creative Connection. It raised $300. Let me tell you, we were ecstatic!!

God has grown this ministry in size and grown the show itself. We believe between 800 and 900 people came through our doors this year.

We do have a small number of personal sales, where they donate 15% of their sales to a chosen charity. The charity we give to is a girl’s school in Tanzania, to assist in learning sewing skills. This will help them make a living in their future. 

This year with God’s help, Creative Connection and many many volunteers, raised just under $18,000

This will help our church with ministries, outreach and many other things.
