Our Big Prayer!

“And we all, who…contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” – 2 Corinthians 3:18

Transformation! Metamorphosis!

As a caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly, may the Lord answer this prayer for his divine transformation of each one of us.

I unpacked Our Big Prayer in my sermon on Sunday, by answering the following questions:

How does Jesus transform us?

  • By the Word – Romans 12:2 – having our minds renewed by the gospel word.

  • By His Spirit – 2 Corinthians 3:18 – we are being transformed into his glorious image by the Lord who is the Spirit.

What kind of transformation should I expect?

  • Inner transformation – in the attitudes and thoughts of our hearts and minds.

  • Outer transformation – in our speech and actions.

Who is transformed?

  • Every single of one of us, in OUR church, here at Dapto Anglican.

  • Through us we pray that transformation will occur to people in our community.

There are approaching 40,000 souls in our area, which God has given us responsibility for. May we be gospel-shaped and gospel-hearted people, who pray and long for transformation in and through our church.

What is the goal of transformation?

  • As the moon reflects and shines the light of the sun, we seek to glorify and honour our God, reflecting His glory to our community.

My hope and prayer is that we will all make Our Big Prayer a regular part of our lives—and that God will glorify His Name through us. Will you join in prayer now?

Lord, please transform hearts and lives, in and through us, for Your glory! Amen.

PS: THIS SUNDAY, we reveal the first of our 2030 Focus goals.

Grace and peace,
Mark
