What should our big prayer for Dapto Anglican Church be?

What should we be praying together for the next few years – until (say) 2030? What prayer would reflect Scripture, God’s heart for the lost, and would help align us around God’s particular purpose for us here in Dapto? How can we reach the 40,000 people in our parish?

We’re embarking on a process to discern what God wants us to be focussing on together. I’d love you to get involved, especially by praying for this process.

As well as a big prayer, we’d love to come up with 3-5 goals. These will provide focus for our programs, activities and prayers. They will help us know where to allocate time, money and other resources. They will help us pray too.

Crucial to this process is a steering team made up of representatives from across the congregations – two Wardens, two staff, a few from Parish Council, and some others who represent various services/demographics. This team will assess ideas, including from a congregation meeting you’ll be invited to, and help shape our Big Prayer and goals.

I’m excited to be embarking on this journey! God willing we’ll have the final Big Prayer and Goals ready to share with you in our celebration series in term 4.

PS:What a great Easter weekend! Praise God the gospel went out to so many people. I thank God for the many people who served so well. Pray our visitors would return and we’d be ready to make them welcome!
